Peas Porridge!

Peas porridge hot. Peas porridge cold. Peas porridge in the pot. Nine days old!
(Ok, ten days old).

Ella-Lorraine is just ten days old today! She's done so much already. She was born on the 16th, we went home on the 18th. We've already had our first outing to the doctor's office - her fist visit, on the 20th.
That same day, we went to dine at LA's newest culinary phenomenon, the Chick-Fil-A near USC and she's been to Ross, of course. (My parents like to go there on Tuesdays.)

The next day we went to the Santa Monica Pier to walk around. Here we are getting our first use out of the double stroller (well technically the first use was when we went to eat wings right before we hit the pier.

She's a delight! She's still snorting when she sleeps and after she eats (which seems like it is all of the time!) She LOVES to eat! It is a challenge, balancing time with Langston with time with her, but we're managing. He's doing well in school. Working on potty training and wearing big boy underwear! He's working on transitioning into the preschool class so we'll see how that goes!

Parenthood at its best.

My parents are left for New Jersey this morning. We're going to miss them so much! They have been here for a month after having changed their ticket to wait for the baby's arrival. The time that they and Langston have had to bond has been priceless. Add to that all of the ways they've helped us start to adjust and just being a support for Langston and all of the changes in his life (potty training, new sister, having to share his parents' attentions) and we are truly indebted. The sum total of their presence has been immeasurable. If ever Langston needed attention or dinner or potty time or anything at all and I was busy nursing (which is what it seems like I am doing most of the time), they would take care of him and free me up to attend to her. I don't know what we will do without them. I'm a little afraid to tell you the truth...
This was taken on my birthday as we prepared to go out for dinner. Earlier that day we spent some time in the yard while Langston tried to figure out how the sprinkler worked with Pop.

He wanted Pop to do all of the work.
