i've been to the doctor twice since my parents came to town and there's nothing more distressing when you're this pregnant, than, "still closed up pretty tight" or "baby's still cooking."
technically, neither of those are bad things, but you just get to the point where you want to meet the baby, you know?
so, here's what we've been up to since the 7th to keep busy while we wait for the diva to make her grand entrance...
on Sunday, the 8th, we slept in - quite a treat for this churchworker. then a nice family style dinner at Maggianos with my parents.
on Monday the 9th we ran a few errands and then enjoyed a relaxing evening of dinner and scrabble at home.
on Tuesday, the 10th, i had a doctor's appointment - no news yet.
on Wednesday, the 11th, we did some projects around the house including Pop replacing Langston's window! yay for new glass!
on Thursday the 12th, Mom had BLUE CRABS shipped in from the East Coast - what a treat! just thinking about them makes my mouth water all over again. We also went to Noah's Ark at the Skirball Museum. I highly recommend it! Langston LOVED the exhibit. (We loved it when Hunny got caught in the rope bridge. seriously mom, you could have given us your purse and camera to lighten your load.)
on Friday, the 13th we had Langston's 2-year old pictures taken at Sears and then we went to the grove with 800 other folks (300 of them in strollers) to see yo gabba gabba! live!! including dj lance rock who i've got to say was very charismatic in person.
let me tell you - if standing in the heat (with several hundred mommies, daddies, grandparents and toddlers [ update - went to the yo gabba gabba website and they estimate 4,000 people at the grove. CRAZY!!! and it was blazing hot!) waiting for a toddler's tv act to arrive, at 41 weeks pregnant, balancing a 2 year old toddler on your shoulders and keeping him entertained while some idiot mc introduces 12 year old disney personalities (that no one is there to see anyway) like they're the most talked about celebrities on earth while the entire crowd chants "yo gabba gabba" does not propel you into labor....nothing will. that kid is simply and truly ONLY coming out on their own time.
did i mention i am 41 weeks pregnant. standing. in the heat. with a 2 year old. on my shoulders. ?

no baby yet!
41 weeks and counting.
