No news is good news?

no news to report yet, but i've not stopped!

here's a little recap of the past few weeks.

first - everyone keeps telling me how good i look for a pregnant woman. which i know is a compliment, but i think - wow, how run down do pregnant women usually look?

i guess i must be doing something right! i worked right until the very end, still picked up my 26 month old toddler,

5 weeks out from our due date, we spent a weekend day at gene's church picnic, with just one month 'til our due date, we hit the tide pools north of malibu, the santa monica pier and beach for fireworks on the 4th of july and the LA zoo on the 5th of july. 3 weeks out we went to the natural history museum to see the dinosaur exhibit and the newly remodeled wing during a members only event. the next day (the 11th), langston cut a molar and boy was that a tough day! he was completely lethargic, feverish and miserable, but he was a trooper! with blood everywhere and the fact that it was one of the hottest days of the year, we were all pretty exhausted by nightfall. loads of laundry, our portable air conditioners running and waterproof pads all over our couch and langston's mattress set the scene for our little man's sick bed. he came through the day with flying colors. though! his tooth came through fine and i kept him home from school the next day to make sure the bleeding and fever were finished. on tuesday we got up bright and early to send him to school and on his way out the door he fell and busted his lip...oh well!! a little cold water and more medicine and he was ok enough to go to daycare (thank goodness, for mommy's sanity!)

two weeks 'til our due date was gene's family reunion and then the next day, gene, langston and i hit knott's berry farm with the youth group. we stayed in the children's section mostly and walked around a lot!!!! one week out from our due date, we rested up after langston had an(other) episode that left him with a bloody lip and also did a little car shopping, then we cheered on our royal knight at medieval times the next day.

hunny and pop came into town the next day - just in time to join us to pick up our new swagger wagon that evening and eat at that fine dining establishment - red lobster! yes folks, it's true - we're officially members of the minivan club now. we got our membership cards just in time to spend the week preceding our official due date (although let's face it, at this point we're all on baby alert - but nothing's happening yet) driving all around town keeping busy and seeing the sights.

langston stayed home on tuesday to visit with hunny and pop. in addition to jaunts to target and home depot, we had our inaugural visit to costco during which we tried to cram as much stuff in the minivan as possible because we could - including a twin mattress. after unpacking everything, we headed to the grove for a little children's place shopping and some yummy woodranch for dinner.

on wednesday langston went to school (Mommy had a doctor's appointment which was totally defeating - nothing was happening. And the doctor felt the need to tell me that Langston's late entry to the world did not bode well for this baby's on-time arrival and that this kid was probably a biggun'. Great. Thanks. Mommy, Daddy, Hunny & Pop tried to beat this disturbing news (well, distrubing to me, at least by heading to Fogo de Chao for lunch).

on thursday, langston went to school again and after we picked him up a little early to hit the natural history museum's butterfly pavilion. he enjoyed it, but had no problems telling me when he wanted to go to his house and that he was ready to eat dinner.

friday - we had the best intentions of making it to the zoo, but after hitting LA traffic, we abandoned that plan to head to the La Brea Tar pits and then to The Grove for a sneak peek of the walking with the dinosaurs exhibit. they had a baby tyrannosaurus rex that came out and growled at the kids for a bit. langston was brave and not at all scared (like some of the other kids who wanted OUT!)

that brings us to yesterday - our official due date. as the earlier post describes, we spent the day at the zoo!

pics to come!!!!
