Langston and Ella-Lorraine had their annual visit with Santa. Langston is entranced. Ella-Lorraine is unsure. Langston had a little visit with Santa at his school, too. He was so delighted with the little bag of treats Santa give him! He received a letter in the mail yesterday, too, from Santa and it made his day! His entire face lit up. He just couldn't believe that Santa sent HIM, Langston Brown, a letter. We watched him gingerly open it with his little fingers, carefully unfold the letter and listen patiently as it was read to him. He closed it just as carefully when it was finished and look all around his room until he found the perfect place to tuck it away for safekeeping so he could look at it again AND so Ella-Lorraine couldn't reach it. :)
This is such a magical time for both kids - watching the magic become real for Langston, seeing him "really" get it for the first time and watching Ella-Lorraine try to figure it out by watching everything carefully for herself as she does, but also by watching Langston and his reactions to things to see what's what.
Gene and I often say we wish we had video cameras in our heads so we could record every cherished moment and relive them again and again. Last night's activity, opening the Santa letter would have been one for the archives.
