Siblings

Langston is absolutely in love with his new sister. He adores her and she always responds to him when he talks to her or spends any kind of time with her. Langston is always trying to hug or kiss her - we have to monitor him because a toddler's version of gentle and our version - two different things.

A few sweet stories:
When a family member came by to visit, they were holding Ella-Lorraine and visiting with her for a bit. When they prepared to leave, they said "OK, we're going to head out - we'll see you later." Langston responded, "Bye. See you later!!! Leave the baby."

Another time she was sleeping in her carseat and Langston was warned not to touch her. "The baby's sleeping, Langston, don't touch her." But, of course he touches her and she wakes up.

His response:
"Mommy, my baby's not sleeping, my baby's crying."

I'm sure both he and she will enjoy hearing how he talks to her as if she is big enough to do whatever he does. He is always trying to share his "goalpit" (goldfish) with her or making her give him high fives, but unfolding her little fists. If he's dancing or going somewhere he invites her along, "C'mon Ella-DoRaine". Sometimes he tries to do what she's doing...laying on the bed, getting her diaper changed, even getting some milk how Ella-Lorraine gets her milk. Obviously we nipped that in the bud!

In the morning, he is happy to go to school, but very aware he is leaving her. "Goodbye Mommy, Goodbye Ella DoRaine!" He loves being a big brother.
