OK - last night was a rough night. Langston was doing so well with the potty training and he's regressing a little bit. This is to be expected with a new baby in diapers, but it is still frustrating. Add to the new baby, his new preschool class and just life changes in general and it is not the end of the world, but it is so tough when you know he knows better.
We went to the movies on Saturday and Langston wet himself during the feature. Ok - to be expected he may not tell us he wants to go to the bathroom during the movie, but when we take him to the bathroom, sit him on the toilet and change his clothes and he's wet again within 15 minutes well now that's just too much. So, we're weathering that.
Yesterday he came home from pre-school and we had a similar situation. He's started to wet his pants during naptime. Again, OK - in your sleep we can work with that. But, as we are all sitting down together he just wets himself on the floor. I dutifully take him into the bathroom and put him on the potty. I give him a little soft swat on the bottom imploring him to tell me when he has to go potty. He says OK. Then he says, "It is not acceptable Mommy." Really? He's heard me tell him something is not acceptable so now he is using my own words against me. Oh well. We put new clothes on him had a talk about telling me before he pees his pants that he has to go and he says he understands. We go to the kitchen to have dinner and I look at him standing there, legs spread apart and I ask him what he's doing to which he replies, "Peeing in my pants."
Good grief.
