one month!

Ella Lorraine is just over nine pounds now. She wants to eat and be held all of the time!!! She is smiling and cooing and getting more and more alert every day. What happened to my baby?! People keep asking me how Langston is with her. I want to write here for prosperity that he loves his little sister. It is his baby and he wants to comfort her, play with her and do what she's doing. Now having said that, he does get a little fussy when he is tired. It was tougher at first - when he was tired and wanted mommy and if I was nursing he got a little whiny. Now, one month in, we're finding more of a rhythm and everyone's adjusting. We have to keep in mind also that he is two so whether she's around or not, he has his moments of independence, dependence and all of the bipolar type stiff that comes with being two.

The pictures above are from our trip back East. I forgot to mention that Ella-Lorraine went to her first family barbecue while we were back home! She slept through it, but it was good for us to see everyone and just relax. I included this picture of Langston in the crab floaty in the pool so you could see that he is growing, too!

See Ella-Lorraine's little red face? We took her to the doctor and they recommended hydrocortisone to address her baby acne (I had forgotten that we had to do this with Langston, too). So, if our experience is any indication, it will clear up and her little face will be just fine!
