17 months old today!

Relishing his ice cream bar after the Hemophilia Walk!

Langston is 17 months old today!! He is growing so nicely! He has added "uh-oh" (usually after he's dropped something or fallen or tripped) and "apple" and "more" to his repertoire of words. He's also started to really use (and enjoy using) the sign for eat. The other day I dropped something out of the fridge and said, "shoot" and of course heard a little voice behind me proclaim, "shoot". Langston also repeated my exclamation in the car the other day, saying, "go" after he heard me give that same direction to the car in front of me. I can't believe he's not even a year and a half old yet, he has so many words...and just think at 14 months I was worried that he wasn't talking yet! "Nose", "moon" or something that sounds like that for spoon and "out" are just some of the other words he's working on. We're

really working on please and thank you which he says. Of course we're reinforcing those words with him all the time. And "thank you has almost become automatic, "toot-do" is how it comes out - Amazing!!!

On the day of this post, Langston was recovering from an incident at daycare. He fell face first into one of the little bike and got pretty banged up. With his clotting condition, it created some nice bruising on his face and we ended up spending the weekend in the hospital. He was fine through it all - happy and joyful and his usual chipper self. Of course you hate to see your little one looking less than 100% and undergoing any serious patient care. But, we survived and he's healing and doing wonderfully. A fantastic present to mark the anniversary of his 17th month. :)

I'm including a medley of photos from the past month. All so you can see how he's grown. Some are from our home - him wearing his little firefighter rain jacket and rain boots during the week of rain we had at the beginning of the month. A couple of cute bath shots (that infamous day that he pooped during bathtime!) or clothing shots (someone gave us an adorable little aviator jumpsuit that just looks darling on him). A couple of pics of his happy face in the hospital, trying on his Halloween costume(s) and some even from the Hemophilia Walk we did to

bring awareness and support to his condition. Thanks to Maggie & Katrina for walking with us (and taking most of our photos!) and to all of the folks who supported our walk! Our little team of 4 took home the best t-shirt win, brought in over

$200 and helped the Southern California Hemophilia Foundation raise over $90,000!

Our little boy is growing up! He had his very first day in the toddler room at school on Friday (the day of the incident) - he's officially transitioned from the infant room and we're so excited! He LOVES the toddler room. He was so ready to move and he loves everything about it - the "library" corner, the clothing hooks, the little kitchen, the outside toys, the little tables where they eat their snacks and lunches and everything that seems more grown up than the baby room. He looks so little in their compared to the other children (he moved up a month early, so he really is the youngest in there), but he is DELIGHTED!

Thanks everyone for all of your prayers and love and support. They're working - our little kiddo is really emerging - Mr. Personality. Keep up the good work. :)
