I installed his big boy carseat yesterday and he used it for the first time today. I can tell he enjoys it. The first time he rode in it he just looked out of the window quietly and took it all in - I think he was a little in awe of the whole experience. I have to admit, although I know it is safer for him rear-facing, I love having him forward facing. I love looking back at him and seeing his little face light up. Sometimes I try to sneak a peek and there he is with those big eyes staring right back at me watch my every move. The boy is quick, bright and clearly taking it all in! He doesn't miss a thing!
While the "pod" baby seat wasn't too short for him yet (his legs weren't scrunched up against the back seat), but it was too tight across the chest and there was no more strap to "extend." So, we decided to install the forward facing seats we had purchased months ago. We got a fantastic deal (and I mean fantastic!) on two brand new seats using all of the coupons, gift cards, sales flyers and other tricks I had saved up. Of course we scotch guarded the heck out of them before we put them in the car, we'll see how that goes...! Not to mention, he had outgrown position of the snap n'go stroller - he wanted to sit up and see what was going on when we were out and about. So, it was a win-win all around!
I snapped quite a few shots of him in his new seat. Here are some of my favorites. Doesn't he seem just tickled and pleased as punch? He is too funny!
getting sleepy...ok i can take the pacifier out for one picture
just don't take it away from me, please?!
give it back! oh mommy - you're too funny!
side view - this is great!
I also included some from yesterday - when he wore his new "Lion" outfit (he has this whole line from Gymboree so you'll see the Lion theme a lot, bear with us...we call him Langston the Lion so it seemed only fitting) for the first day of "school" in the new year. This is the first day of school after Labor Day.
Even though he went all summer too, this felt like a new beginning so we took quite a few shots. He looks so handsome with his big boy clothes and new shoes! I can tell he got a kick out of it all.
See where Langston got into the closet and disturbed Mommy's nicely folded pile of outgrown baby clothes for storage?!
I've also included a few shots from tomorrow - I know, how did I get shots from tomorrow? Magic! He is wearing another Lion ensemble (I warned you!) and posing with his lunch bag as he prepares to ride in is baby car seat for the last time in Daddy's car! He's growing so nicely!
