When Mommy got back from Navajoland, she was still excited about camping, so she and Daddy decided to have a campout in the yard on Friday night, July 17. We had a fire and a tent and a lakeside view - well, ok it was just me filling up the pool, but it was fun! I got soaking wet and had o get a change of clothes - this was after I tried to walk down the porch steps by myself and Mommy and Daddy sprinted across the yard to save me. Mommy caught me just in time - right as my head was about to hit the second step. I, of course, didn't understand what all the fuss was about while Daddy went in the house and slammed the door proclaiming that he needed a moment. Oh well, one of these days I'll learn to listen to the warnings, I guess.
Everything was so much fun! I had no problem sleeping in the tent, but Daddy (who is a light sleeper!) had trouble getting some shut-eye so close to the road. So, I think they snuck me into my crib and they went to their bed in the middle of the night. It was fun while it lasted! Next year or maybe even in the fall, were going to try the real thing! I can't wait.
I think we're off to the zoo tomorrow!

That is so stinkin' cute! I love it! When i was reading the post, the first thing that came to my mind was "There is no way Gene slept in that tent all night long, especially with his bed so close" and I was right!
