The Annual Visit from the Cousins

Thanks to the addition of Langston, the 4 boys we (Eugene and I) used to fondly refer to as "the nephews" have now become, "the cousins". They joyfully made their annual trek to California this year and we had an a amazing time! So many things to do and see! I can't post all of the photos (you don't want me to, I'm sure!) from the week, but I'll pick out a few good ones and give the you rundown!

July 21 (Tuesday) - Hunni and Pop and the 4 Ks arrived late in the evening. they were tired but excited - even Langston woke up and the 5 of them hugged and played and just made noise from about 11 pm - 12:30 am.

July 22 (Wednesday) - The very next day it was up and at'em as we had Universal Studios passes we had to use up! So we headed to the Entertainment Capital of Los Angeles and played with Curious George, talked to Donkey, visited with Shrek, chatted with Bart and just all in all had a great time! (Despite the fact that I had to take Langston to the first aid station in the middle of th afternoon for a fever. It was 103.5 degrees! We took him home, bathed him, gave him tylenol and motrin and he was not only better by morning, but had a new molar to show off!)

July 23 (Thursday) - Off to the swimming pool we went, today! The boys had a great time splashing about while Langston just wanted to walk up and down the one little step at the edge of the pool and walk through the shallow end. The water was cold!
Afterwards we changed clothes and played in the playground right there in the park. And the popsicle man helped us cool off...

July 24 (Friday) - We were out and about early heading to the tide pools north of Malibu. We saw lots of really cool things - an octopus, hermit crabs, starfish, and lots of neat sea life! The boys loved it. We even saw a sea cave, climbed the rocks and watched lots of surfers!

Then that evening we took the gang to Medieval Times! The boys LOVED it - we cheered on our blue knight and though he was not victorious he fought with honor and dignity! Go Blue!

July 25 (Saturday) - This time it was the KidsSpace Museum. Again, another home run with the boys! They played, rode bikes, splased about in the creek and just enjoyed a space just for kids! We don't have a ton of pics from that day, but here's one of Eugene and Langston climbing the rain drop sculpture and one of all 4 boys in the creek.

July 26 (Sunday) - Last but not least, on one final outing before the crew took off on Monday morning, the family joined me for church on Sunday then we joined the youth group on their outing to Knott's Berry Farm. We've got a ton of photos, but let's face it - this post is already long, you've seen tons of photos already and there's really only one photo you need to sum up this day:
Cuteness personified, 'nuff said!
