Two months old!

Here we go again!

According to the calendar (not the weeks or days, but the calendar), Langston is 2 months old today. He is getting more and more sociable - spending more time awake and "playing" with us - listening attentively and trying to talk back - the experts call this "finding his voice". He coos and smiles and makes cute little faces. We swear that he rolls his eyes at us sometimes, looks our way to scream and cry when we don't pick him up fast enough, or makes little peeps as part of our conversation! What a doll!

On Thursday, the 24th, I was desperately trying to get him to sleep - I was soooo tired and we had company coming over. I just needed a power nap - 20 minutes to keep me going. It was about 5:15 and I was trying to keep him down and calm until Daddy came home about 1/2 hour later, but it was no use - he wanted to be up. So I sat up, removed my hand from the pacifier I was trying to keep in his mouth and looked at him - "I give up. If you want to be up, be up! Are you happy, now?", I said. He looked right up at me, spit his pacifier out of his mouth and gave me two - count'em, two - wide toothless wet grins. Grins, I tell you! Believe me - this kid is smart. He knows what he's doing and he's got our number. What could I possibly say or do but laugh and kiss me and tell him I loved him!

On Saturday, Langton met his cousin Yulanda for the first time. He also attended his first baby shower for our friend, Karen. I hear having a baby at your baby shower is good luck. And today, Sunday, he will go to church with Dad again and be doted on, fussed over and held by the church women. Oh, and we'll also head out on our first family vacation!

I've added some pictures from his 2 month photo shoot - ok well, not really a photo shoot, but I took (quite) a few photos to come up with one for his Baptism invitation. We're having him baptized in August on the 24th. That's going to be a big month for him - he'll meet his cousins on mommy's side (the nephews as Gene and I call them), meet his Aunt Ayana and Uncle Kyle, get baptized and go to Disneyland all in the span of about 10 days! Whew - we're looking forward to it, but here are some great photos in the meantime (you can check out more in the slideshow to the left). Mommy didn't do too bad! Enjoy!!
