Hello again!
Yes, you will notice it is early in the AM and as everyone on two coasts has figured out (by the decreasing number of phone calls) - no baby yet. So, I couldn't sleep and decided to post an update....
(by the way - this photo is from May 10, so the baby has gotten bigger since then. I will be sure to post some more recent photos!)
The biggest news to-date is, again, no news yet. We really appreciate the calls and emails and the check-ins...we especially appreciate the phone calls that don't start with - "No baby yet?!". My parents are in town, they've been here since the 16th - so between the 4 of us all waiting expectantly and not always patiently, we're going a little stir-crazy. We've been on an "adventure" every day. By adventure I mean, yes, you guessed it - units of time. What can we do today to use up some time?
So in the past 7 days we've made numerous visits to costco, the movie theater, grocery stores, lots of naps, a "law and order" marathon or two, a visit to the santa monica pier, shoe warehouses (i know, i know brilliant in theory as i do love the shoes, but tough when you're a bit tired and not at all inspired to do the bending over required to try on the shoes!) a drive up the coast, many many meals out at restaurants and more!
All of this in an effort to use up units of time, stop watching the clock (and secretly, I believe, get me to walk myself into labor). And did I mention that we did have a couple of labor pangs during which we were all thinking "yippee - this is it!" but alas, baby brown has not chosen to enter the world just yet. Oh, the stories I could tell you! Gene thinks the baby is like he is in a hot shower - just content to stay in there as long as possible - opening that shower curtain to step out into the cold, drafty world is tough. C'mon baby - you can do it!
