A Thriller Weekend

If you read some of our earlier posts, you know that we had a dramatic weekend the weekend of the 23rd - 25th of October. Langston started the weekend with his first official day in the toddler room of his daycare/preschool. That day ended with Langston having a slight bump in his head and with me making a call to his doctor and being told to monitor it. Gene and I handed over a very happy, joyful and pleasant Langston to a sitter for the evening while we went to a Halloween commitment. Langston was fine - his normal self. We came home to no reports of anything out of the ordinary.

When we woke up the next morning, Langston's bump had gotten considerably bigger, covering most of his forehead and he corners of his eyes and the middle of his nose. So it was off to the ER we went! The doctors examined and re-examined Langston for hours.
They finally decided to admit him and the 3 of us stayed overnight. We finally were released on Sunday, the 25th, after observation, medication and lots more physician consultations - just in time to go home for an hour or so and prepare to go back out that afternoon.
I had a work commitment - the annual youth group Halloween Haunt, so we rallied and headed to the Haunted Corn Maze. Langston wore his skeleton costume (pjs!) with his great Halloween "make-up" to complete the look. We had a great time going through the corn maze, eating roasted corn and just enjoying being outside.

Langston of course was just as pleasant and energetic as ever - running around and having a ball. As the night got cooler, we put on his turtle vest and he became a skeleton turtle...

At the end of the night he was content, but exhausted. Nothing like a sleeping skeleton!

Nothing keeps that kid down, not even a weekend in the hospital!
