more firsts!

first cereal today.

first rolled over...
first high chair experience

ok - so i started this post (not this blog, this actual post) way back when, and am now just updating it. in case you don't know me well - here is one of my hang-ups. i want things to be perfect - not ok, not fine - great, fantastic, awesome. as a result, if i can't give something 165%... i usually don't do it. so - here's where that doesn't work with blogging. i want to have a post of "firsts" (see above). i would also like to have pictures of said "firsts" so, before i publish said "firsts", all of these "firsts" have to happen...then i have to have pics or videos, then download all of that stuff (and of course it is not just one pic or video, it is one video from every angle, etc. etc.) then - i want ample time to write eloquently and post my pics in order, etc. etc.

as a reuslt of my neurosis, i put it off and put it off thinking i won't do it until i can have all the time i need, my camera, my computer and my thoughts all together to publish this amazing blog entry of "firsts" and as a result of all of that - it either doesn't happen or it takes so long that folks are like - "hey, update your blog!"

so, here i am - holding the baby with one hand, typing with the other - i don't have a ton of time, any of my "first" pics or video because they are still on the camera which is miles away in my husband's car, and i barely have my thoughts together.

in turn, i will have to post some "first" pics at another time, but i do know this: if you're out there reading this, post a comment, people!!!! - it helps to know someone is actually out there reading this thing and caring about it - and it keeps me on my toes. and secondly, bear with me, we've all got full plates right now with the holidays coming up, but we all don't have my neuroses. in short, i'm working on it - it isn't a term paper, just a blog, right?...a few pics, some thoughts (or not) and hit publish...here goes nothing!

oh, and did i mention my sweet dog, nemo, has been missing for several days now? don't even get me started.

here are some fun images to tide you (and me) over...

Ah, Karlyn, it's sweet! I love it! I LOVE Langston's giggle!!! IT is HILARIOUS!!!! And, nope, the blog doesn't have to be perfect,I just want it updated. No need for perfection from me (in this department; as for Halloween, I expect nothing less)

I love the foot in the wrong hole!!! Awesome. I agree with the comment thing, thank you for your comments on mine.

And you know how I think, no need for perfection, but I understand the picture thing. I want pictures in my blog too.

Here's my comment! Yes I'm here and checking in occasionally but no need for perfection! Right? who needs the stress? Here's something you might try: Some of the Mommy bloggers do their blog for their child to someday read as posts from Mommy to little one. It's kind of a nice way to look at it, for both blogger and reader. Then maybe there's no need for each entry to be the complete multi-media presentation. But don't listen to me anyway, I haven't done a baby book for either kid or a wedding book for that matter!

My dear friend, I'm reading the blog and loving your posts. I know how hard you work for things to be just right, and this is wonderful for everyone who lives far away and wants to hear about Langston and his super parents. I'll always be impressed with everything you manage to do, with your unique brand of creativity! It may be against your nature (and mine), but try not to sweat the small stuff! :-)
